In recent weeks, our team has been on the road attending several exciting events – with plenty of discussion, inspiration and technological depth.

At IDS's Computer Vision Day, our CEO, Dr Dominik Lausch, presented practical examples of how Vision AI is revolutionising industrial processes – from quality inspection to smart fault detection. The intensive exchange with industry colleagues once again demonstrated the enormous potential of computer vision for the industry of tomorrow. Read more about it here LinkedIn.

At the LifeScience exchange at TGZ, Dr Dominik Lausch also demonstrated the versatility of our Vision AI technologies. The focus was on combining intelligent image processing with bioscientific applications. The Denkweit tour was rounded off at Battery Manufacturing Day in Karlsruhe, where everything revolved around the future of battery cell production. Experts from mechanical engineering, research and industry focused on one question: How can innovative technologies improve quality, efficiency and sustainability in production? Up to now, mapping bus routes has been time-consuming and resource-intensive, often involving manual recording of road conditions, traffic signs, and bus stops.

With our image analysis AI (DENKnet), routes can be digitised efficiently.

One example is the mapping of bus route 34 in Halle/Saale. The company Stradis took images of the entire route. These are georeferenced by station (given in kilometres) and coordinates. The AI automatically recognises traffic signs or other infrastructure objects in the image material and enables a complete inventory – naturally in compliance with the GDPR by obscuring faces and vehicle registration plates.

The goal:

To advance the digitisation of bus routes. This opens up several possible applications:

For transport companies and drivers: Virtual route knowledge without having to be on site.
For citizens and tourists: A public, simplified view of the stop images – ideal for orientation in a city that expects over a million visitors a year with the Future Centre.

This is how smart image analysis turns into real traffic transparency – for administration, drivers and the public.
