Less setup dependency, greater scalability: VMT utilises DENK technologies and the DENK Vision AI Hub for AI-based image analysis.

We are delighted to announce our new strategic partnership with VMT Vision Machine Technic.

VMT is an internationally established specialist in industrial image processing and machine vision. The company develops turnkey solutions for automation, quality assurance and robot guidance – for use in sectors such as the automotive and life sciences industries. With customised system design, its own software platform and suitable hardware, VMT enables precise 2D and 3D analysis, position determination and inspection processes in complex production environments.

Production processes are becoming increasingly complex. At the same time, the demands on quality assurance, inspection and flexible automation are rising. This is precisely where the collaboration comes in:

VMT will in future use the DENK Vision AI Hub as its central training platform for Vision AI, in order to integrate AI-based image analysis even more efficiently into its own solutions and bring them to market on a scalable basis.

DENKweit was recently represented in the Tech Talk with Fraunhofer IEM – with a clear focus on an often underestimated topic: Vision AI in industrial practice.

Whilst many AI debates are dominated by language models, the reality in production is that what matters is what AI sees, not what it generates. Minor deviations such as scratches or faulty components have a direct impact on quality, scrap rates and efficiency.

Vision AI doesn’t have to be complicated

Modern vision AI can be deployed much more quickly than is often assumed.

At DENKweit, this means:

Early this month, DENKweit was represented at the East German Economic Forum (OWF26) – with many in-depth discussions, clear positions and a central question at the forefront:

How can Germany rebuild genuine industrial value creation in the age of AI?

Germany continues to have excellent prerequisites for this: a strong industrial base, highly advanced machinery and in-depth technological expertise. At the same time, it is becoming increasingly apparent that, in many areas, speed, the ability to deliver and a willingness to take risks are not sufficient to keep pace with international competition.

In the context of artificial intelligence in particular, it is clear that other countries are often quicker to apply and scale up new technologies. This dynamic presents a key challenge for Germany as a business location.

The development at DENKweit shows that there is another way.

With a clear focus on technological substance, entirely in-house development and a strong practical orientation, AI solutions are being created that hold their own in industrial applications and in competition with large, well-funded providers.

Another key focus at OWF26 was the importance of regional innovation ecosystems – as exemplified by the Weinberg Campus. The discussions on this topic have once again highlighted that strong networks linking research, start-ups and industry are a crucial lever for translating innovation more quickly into practical applications and value creation.

The dialogue with leading figures from business and technology – including Dr Karsten Wildberger – also demonstrated how important nuanced, strategic perspectives are for the region’s further development.
