Update to the DENK VISION AI Hub: OCR & OpenVINO support
Now available with the update from DENKflow 0.7.0 to 0.8.0 (since May 2026):
An OCR update going live in early June.
With the upcoming OCR update, our text and character recognition is no longer limited to 25 characters. In addition, spaces can now be included in training for the first time – ideal for formats such as batch codes, item numbers or labels with separate blocks.
What are the practical benefits?
This makes the OCR significantly more practical for real-world label formats and longer codes – whilst offering faster processing and better executability, e.g. via OpenVINO on Intel hardware.
What else is new?
- Export of networks for Intel OpenVINO: Faster execution on Intel CPUs, GPUs and NPUs
- Significantly faster pre-processing with flexible memory layouts and channel configurations
What do I need to do?
If you are already using DENKflow, you can now update to DENKflow 0.8.0. This will allow you to use the upcoming OCR update. (Files from version 0.7 are not directly compatible.)
If you have been using the classic C-API but would like to benefit from the latest OCR version, please contact support: support@denkweit.de. The classic C-API does not support OpenVINO execution.

East German Economic Forum 2026 – Dominik Lausch as a speaker
DENKweit will be represented at this year’s East German Economic Forum (OWF26) – one of the key meeting places for decision-makers from the worlds of politics, business and academia.
The event will take place from 31 May to 2 June in Bad Saarow under the theme ‘A New (Dis)Order’.
On 1 June, Dr Dominik Lausch will take part in the “Deep-Dive Panel Weinberg Campus” workshop.
On 2 June, he will share his perspective on the panel “The Digital Economy as a Growth Engine – How Germany is now creating value in the AI era”.
The focus will be on how Vision AI can be deployed in a targeted manner in industrial practice – not as an end in itself, but where it achieves a measurable impact on quality, efficiency and processes.
